The Background

East vs West

Downtown core developers were hot. West end projects had hipster street-cred. How do you give the east side of the city a new vibe & united the neighbourhood?

The Plan

We needed to create a cause. Galvanize the neighbourhood behind the project. We did it by uniting the east. But that was just the beginning, once united we pit them against the rest of the city. It was Sharks versus Jets. Montagues versus Capulets. Us versus them.

We went beyond advertising & design. By honing in on the target group and starting a “grassroots” movement, we were able to move people. We influencing product development with targeted amenities like “The Maker Studio” for crafting, a music “Jam Room, outdoor theatre, meditation room & even wifi-free zone.
