Located in the heart of Guelph, where the city was founded, along the picturesque Speed River, where some of the city’s oldest building stand: was an abandoned “brownfield” site. The Metalworks is a new urban village that will utilize restored old architecture to complement modern highrise condos in this unique pedestrian community. An authentic, award winning, multimedia campaign took fulladvantage of the areas rich history.
Once, there was a maple tree.
And when it was felled, a new city was born. It was April of 1827, and they called it Guelph. Only a few years later, on a humble patch of land just steps from where the tree once grew, a milling family began a long tradition of industry.
For nearly two hundred years, this place helped shape our city. For many years, it defined Guelph.
And restored and reimagined, it will again.
